Dr Jonathan Sly talks clearing in 60 seconds
Listen to Jonathan Sly discuss what clearing can offer.
Whether you're re-evaluating your choices to find the perfect course or considering a different university, clearing is an excellent way to discover the best fit for you.
Accommodation
From quiet 4 beds to lively 10 beds, there’s plenty of accommodation for you to explore!
After receiving your University ID in the offer letter sent from our Admissions Team, you can easily apply for accommodation using the online application form.
Your clearing checklist
We've created a handy clearing checklist you can download to help make sure you’re Clearing ready.
It’s an easy way to make sure you have everything you need to hand when looking for your course. You can also refer to the Clearing timeline below for detailed step-by-step guidance.
Your Clearing timeline
Once you have your results, check out the courses we have available through Clearing to find your future.
Top tips:
- Explore various subjects - you're not confined to your initial idea.
- Check the course details - what are the entry requirements? (Remember we offer contextual offers in Clearing!)
Once you’ve checked your eligibility, give us a call. Remember to have your UCAS ID and results to hand.
If we are able to make you an offer we will send you an email to confirm this, and outline the next steps. Only add a Clearing choice to UCAS once you have permission from The University of Manchester. You may be asked to email a transcript of your results.
- Log into UCAS.
- Click 'add Clearing choice' and fill in the course details by the date we gave you via email.
- The Admissions team will review the application and confirm our decision. Once we’ve confirmed your place, it'll show as an acceptance on your 'choices' page in your application on UCAS.
Thinking of applying directly through Clearing?
If you haven't already applied through UCAS, you first need to register and make an application. Unlike applying before Clearing, you’ll only be able to add a choice after you’ve submitted your application. UCAS will send you a welcome email, with details of how to access your application, and your Clearing number.
You will receive an email from us with all the details you need and the next steps. This will include information about how to apply for Student Finance (should you need to) as well as guidance on student accommodation.
